TELTA WELCOMES YOU TO ITS CONFERENCE

Humbly, we would like to welcome you in our conference that will take place at Mount Meru University, from 28^th – 30^th June 2017. The University is located about 13km from Arusha town, the main road to Nairobi. The theme of the conference is “Connecting Teachers to New Methods and Techniques”

FOOD

During the conference, food will be served within the campus cheaply. While in town there are plenty areas where you can serve different dishes with low costs. Arusha has a wide variety of restaurants and informal eating places, with a predominance of African cuisine. Meals range from less than Tshs. 2000 for street fare to Tshs. 30,000/= for main courses at the high-end hotels.

SECURITY

Arusha is a moderately safe city by African standards, though precautions should be observed. It is not advisable to walk at night, alone or in groups - cabs are plentiful but fares should always be agreed upon at the start of a journey. Avoid taking motorcycle taxis, especially at night in front of clubs. Thieves easily use this opportunity to rob people. When walking in any part of the city beyond the central district, it is advisable to take a person to accompany you.

HOTEL INFORMATION

Hotels in Arusha are cheap and available in every part of the region. The rooms vary according to the standard of the lodge or hotel that a person wishes to stay in. TELTA has organised accommodation with some hotels in a good discount. Charges are as follows, though the participant can find his or her own accommodation;

TELTA has also organised transport for the participants who will be residing in Arusha town with low costs (Tshs. 2000/- to and from the conference), it is advised to use it to minimize costs.
